Wangerooge: efficient system integration for dune reinforcement

Project

The standard suction system did not deliver the desired capacity for the dune reinforcement. Renting additional equipment temporarily was not cost-effective for the project duration.

Approach

We temporarily integrated a hydraulic crane into the suction system, with the corresponding adjustments to control and survey workflow. Hydrographic measurements were performed before and after each phase to document progress and final profile.

Result

Significantly higher sand displacement capacity without structural system modifications, with progress fully documented through pre-/post-surveys. The dune reinforcement was delivered on schedule.
