Levee profiles: measured against the design
RTK pole-measured profiles of a levee, automatically checked against the design, with a clear sheet per cross section and an indication of the shortfall.
Project
After raising or repair, a levee must be at design level. A deviation of a few centimetres is hard to see by eye, and comparing profile by profile with the design by hand takes a lot of time.
Approach
We measure the cross sections with RTK on a pole, at the locations from the design. Our own tool reads the profile locations, the design and the existing ground level (AHN) from the Civil 3D drawing and overlays the measurement. Each profile gets a sheet with the measured line, the design and the difference per point, with low and high sections coloured. The tolerance is ±0.05 m.
Result
The client immediately sees per profile where the levee is too low and by how much, with an indication of the missing volume between the profiles. That is the basis for deciding where and how much to add. Because every survey follows the same processing and layout, follow-up surveys are directly comparable.
