Positioning systems
Positioning systems on dredgers and excavators: realtime excavation data within design, from hydraulic crane to offshore hopper dredger.
What we do
We install positioning systems on dredgers and excavators, so the operator sees in realtime where the bucket or cutter head is relative to the design. That keeps every phase, from clearing to layer build-up, demonstrably within design.
Our approach
We work with proven systems such as GeoDredge, Topcon and Trimble; we fit these installations on both fixed and temporarily hired machines. We process and monitor the dredge data and design models via, for example, Viking Dredge or BeamworX Dredge. The installation can range from hydraulic cranes and cutter suction dredgers to a dragline crane or a large offshore hopper dredger.
We bring survey data, models and machine control together into one continuous information flow: the operator gets usable excavation data, and progress can be followed in realtime on screen and at the office via reports and the cloud environment.
Applications
- Installing positioning systems on fixed and temporarily hired machines
- Realtime position and excavation data for the operator
- Working within supplied or self-built 3D design models
- Following progress on screen and at the office via reports and cloud
- From hydraulic crane and cutter suction dredger to dragline and offshore hopper dredger
